Beefsteak Plant is a non-native plant found throughout much of eastern North America. Originally from East Asia, it is highly invasive and fast-spreading, crowding out native plant species. It was sold in the United States as early as the beginning of the 1800s. Beefsteak Plant is not popular with farmers, because it is toxic to farm animals.
