Pointed-leaved Tick Trefoil is a native plant found in Northern Virginia and many other parts of the state. Taxonomic authorities disagree on how to classify the tick trefoils, which are mostly inconspicuous plants. The Pointed-leaved Tick Trefoil formerly was considered to be part of the genus Desmodium, and some authorities still regard it to be. The pink flowers are tiny, measuring only a quarter of an inch long and wide.
