Tall False Hawksbeard is a non-native invasive plant species that has often been treated as a subspecies of Oriental False Hawksbeard (Youngia japonica). The Virginia range map shows it only in the southeastern corner of the state, but some of it has been photographed and identified at Monticello Park. How it got into Monticello is not known, and further study will be needed to determine the extent to which it has spread.
